At Worcester Bowmen, we want everyone to enjoy archery in a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment. Safeguarding is about taking proactive steps to protect children, young people, and adults at risk from harm. Like all Archery GB-affiliated clubs, we are committed to creating a culture where everyone feels safe, respected and supported.
We follow Archery GB’s safeguarding policies and guidance to help us meet this commitment. That includes clear procedures, safe recruitment practices, and regular training – all designed to help us look after the wellbeing of everyone involved in our club.
The Role of Our Club Safeguarding Officer
Our Club Safeguarding Officer plays an important role in helping to ensure that Worcester Bowmen is a safe place to shoot. They are the main point of contact for any safeguarding concerns and are responsible for promoting best practice across the club. They help make sure our policies are followed and act if any concerns are raised about the welfare of a child, young person or adult at risk. Emily Turner is our Safeguarding Officer (sometimes also know as a Welfare Officer). You can speak to Emily in person about any concerns you may have, or you can email Emily via safegaurding@worcesterbowmen.co.uk.
Our Safeguarding Policies
Worcester Bowmen has adopted all of the current Archery GB Safeguarding Policies and Procedures as part of our club Safeguarding Policy. These provide clear, practical guidance for clubs, coaches, volunteers and parents. You can read more about them by following the links below or by visiting the Archery GB Safeguarding Hub.
